This is a route taking in both the East and West Lomond hills.
Start at the radio mast car park on East Lomond (NO 252058).
From the car park follow the path west up East Lomond; it's quite a steep start (takes about half an hour) but well worth it with good views over Falkland and a viewfinder at the top. There are several routes down the SW face all of them steep at the start and can be muddy after wet weather.
The path soon levels out and it's a gentle downhill stroll and across the Leslie to Falkland road to Craigmead car park where the toilets are sometimes open. Go up the steps at the back of car park and through a very squeaky gate on to the hill.
Follow the path across open ground towards West Lomond. The easiest way up is to stay on the main path as it swings right and round the north and west side of the hill. The last eastward bit on grass is quite steep but the reward is all round good views.
Retrace your steps (passing possible picnic spots at the bottom of West Lomond) until you reach the bottom of East Lomond.
Don't go through the gate onto the hill but swing right for an easy return to the car park round the south side of the hill. Total time including lunch and break stops 5 hours.
